Free crochet bunny pattern!

Yup, you heard it right. This pattern is for free right here on my blog. I made two versions of this bunny: A corpse bunny (shown above) and a sort of sleepy bunny (shown below).

Okay, let’s go!

Skill Level
Beginner: knowledge of basic crochet sts, decreasing and increasing. Also some
embroidery.
Materials
Yarn: any desired yarn. Yarn shown in picture is 4 medium worsted.
Needle: 5 mm crochet hook.
Extra: yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker, polyester stuffing, and safety eyes.
Measurements (inches)
Bunnies stand at 14 inches in height, body is 3 inches in width and with arms spread
out is 13 1/2 inches in width.
Gauge
4 inches: 12 sc and 15 rows.
Pattern
Legs
Leg 1: In magic ring sc 6.
Rnd 1: inc 1 in each st round (12). Place marker indicating end of round.
Rnd 2-26: sc across.
Rnd 27: place piece flat, ch 1, join both sides together by placing hook in next st of row
and st opposite (last st of last rnd), yo, pull loop thru both sts, yo, pull loop thru both
sts, continue in this manner until piece is closed up.
Sl st and cut yarn.
Leg 2: repeat instructions for Leg 1 but do not sl st and cut yarn. Join the legs beginning
with this leg. Ch 1, turn.
Join legs: sc in half of next st the side closest to you for next 6 sts, ch 2, sc 6 in half of
sts of Leg 1, rep for other side of leg, sc 2 in each ch, sc 6 in other side of Leg 2. Place
marker.
Body
Rnd 1: sc 6, sc 2 in each ch, sc 12, sc 2 in 1 st 2x, sc to end (34).
Rnds 2-6: sc across.
Rnd 7: sc 22, dec 2, sc to end (32).
Rnds 8-12: sc across.
Rnd 13: sc 14, dec 1, sc 14, dec 1 (30).
Rnd 14: dec 1, sc 3 rep to end (24).
Rnd 15: dec 1, sc 2 rep to end (18).
Rnd 16: dec 1, sc 1 rep to end (12).
Sl st and cut yarn. Stuff body.

Head
In magic ring sc 6.
Rnd 1: sc 2 in each st round (12). Place marker.
Rnd 2: sc 2 in next st, sc 1 rep to end (18).
Rnd 3: sc 2 in next st, sc 2 rep to end (24).
Rnd 4: sc 2 in next st, sc 3 rep to end (30).
Rnd 5: sc 2 in next st, sc 4 rep to end (36).
Rnd 6: sc 2 in next st, sc 5 rep to end (42).
Rnds 7-17: sc across.
Rnd 18: dec 1, sc 5 rep to end (36).
Embroider on eyes.
Rnd 19: dec 1, sc 4 rep to end (30).
Embroider on nose.
Rnd 20: dec 1, sc 3 rep to end (24).
Rnd 21: dec 1, sc 2 rep to end (18).
Rnd 22: dec 1, sc 1 rep to end (12).
Sl st and cut yarn, leaving a tail for sewing. Stuff head.

Arms (make 2)
In magic ring sc 6.
Rnd 1: sc 2 in each st round (12). Place marker.
Rnds 2-26: sc across.
Rnd 27: place piece flat, ch 1, join both sides together by placing hook in next st of row
and st opposite (last st of last rnd), yo, pull loop thru both sts, yo, pull loop thru both
sts, continue in this manner until piece is closed up.
Sl st and cut yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.
Ears (make 2)
In magic ring sc 6.
Rnd 1: sc 2 in each st round (12). Place marker.
Rnd 2: sc 2 in next st, sc 1 rep to end (18).
Rnds 3-7: sc across.
Rnd 8: sc 1, dec 2, sc to end (16).
Rnd 9: dec 2, sc to end (14).
Rnds 10-20: sc across.
Rnd 21: sc 1, dec 1, sc to end (13).
Rnds 22-26: rep rnd 21. After rnd 26 there will be 8 sts remaining.
Sl st and cut yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.

Assembly
Sew head to body, then ears to head, then arms to top of body. Weave in all ends.
*I sewed the ears to the head to add a drooping effect by sewing ears 2 inches from
bind off to side of head.
